The boys varsity soccer team had a bumpy season playing in a league with some very tough competitors and although their season may not have gone as well as they wanted it to, the team improved a lot and formed a strong bond.
The team did break one record this year. They won the preseason soccer tournament defeating Battle Mountain, Fernley, and Fallon. This is the first time in history that the boys varsity soccer team has ever won a tournament.
The Bucks also defeated Incline Village, which is the first time Lowry has ever beat a school from the Lake Tahoe area.
Although the season was not what they expected senior captain Adrian Mendoza says the team worked hard all season.
"We didn't win a lot of games like we would've liked but we still kept our heads high and didn't give up in the end," said Mendoza.
Senior Nathan Kepler was happy with how his team improved and grew together this year.
"We've had a fun season and improved a lot this year. We have learned to work better as a team and get along better and have been more successful this year," said Kepler. "I'm glad I got to play with these guys for my last year."
The soccer team finished their season with a 7-12-1 record overall and a 3-11-1 record in league play.
